COVID-19 Testing Information

Parent's Guide: When to stay home, get tested, and return.If your child shows symptoms of COVID-19 they must be tested before returning to school. You may seek a RAPID or PCR test. We are now accepting home test kits such as BinaxNow, see directions below. Please email all test results to [email protected] or bring them to the Health Office prior to your student returning to school.

Home Test Kits

Home test kits can now be used for screening your child to return to school. There are both rapid antigen and PCR kits available. Only home test kits that have received FDA Emergency Authorization (EUA) should be used. Authorization should be clearly marked on the packaging of the test kit. If you question whether or not the test kit that you have is approved, please refer to the current list from the FDA.

Rapid Antigen at Home Test Kits

The protocol for sending your test results to Chester Academy's Health Office nurses are as follows;

  1. Ensure the test has FDA EUA and follow the instructions carefully
  2. Write the student's First and Last Name and the Time of the Test directly on the result card
  3. Email a clear photo of the completed Result Card including the Brand Name of the test to [email protected] prior to sending your child to school
  4. The nurse will verify your results from the picture and contact you with questions or clearance to return to school

Free at home antigen test kits are now available from the State: Home - Say Yes! To Covid Test

Chester Academy is now offering to test students using the BinaxNOW™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test. Supplies are limited so these tests will be offered based on availability. A letter sent to Chester Academy families detailing the program can be found here. If you would like your child to participate in this completely voluntary program, please fill out this form.

PCR at Home Test Kits

PCR home tests allow you to collect your sample at home and send it directly to a lab. The protocol for sending your test results to Chester Academy's Health Office nurses are as follows;

  1. Ensure the test has FDA EUA and follow the instructions carefully
  2. When you receive your test results please forward them to [email protected] prior to sending your child to school
  3. The nurse will verify your results and contact you with questions or clearance to return to school
